Hi! I'm Sheryl

I’ve been an animal-lover for as long as I can remember. And not just dogs and cats. I often dream of belly-rubbing a hippo or chin-scratching a Great White. Aside from now knowing how I’ll probably meet my end, you’re probably also assuming that I’ve been vegan most of my life. Who could possibly love animals so much and not be vegan? Me, that’s who.

I was sliding into my 50’s before I decided to give plant-based eating a try, for the animals, the planet and my health. That’s when the confusion and all the questions started. I had a hard time finding answers that weren’t either conflicting, horrifying or just verifiably wrong – but with a very clear, and often judgmental, agenda.

As a professional copywriter for 30 years and a dedicated foodie for life, I decided to put my experience of transitioning to plant-based eating out there to help others navigate this often-confusing world. No judgement. No hard sell. Just information.

When I’m not writing, which isn’t often, I’m usually cooking or baking. I also volunteer at animal sanctuaries and create plant-based cooking videos for 10-Weeks to Vegan. In my spare time I’ve been known to knit more than one blanket for a chilly pig or goat.

In the end, this isn’t about me. vegcurious is for YOU. So, if you have any questions you want answered, just send me a note.
